REACHING FOR THE FUTURE: Stories of Women in the Global Economy

At CFUW Stratford’s annual International Women Day Breakfast on March 7, the keynote speaker will be Maryscott “Scotty” Greenwood, a dynamic leader, storyteller, and strategic thinker whose career spans international diplomacy, corporate leadership, and major roles in public policy and global business.  Her talk on women entrepreneurs around the globe promises insight, inspiration, and a fresh perspective on how women are shaping economies and communities in the world.

Currently serving as Global Head of Government Relations for Manulife Financial Corporation, Scotty brings a powerful voice to conversations about global trade, innovation, and economic opportunity.

Before joining Manulife, Scotty spent decades shaping cross-border business and public affairs, including over 22 years as CEO of the Canadian American Business Council, a premier bilateral trade association connecting leading companies and policy makers. She has also been a senior partner at top consulting firms and served as a U.S. diplomat, building bridges between governments and the private sector.

Known for her engaging communication style and deep understanding of international networks, Scotty has advised Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit leaders, and innovators across borders. Her work has taken her from boardrooms to global forums, where she champions collaboration, inclusion, and forward-thinking solutions.

Following Scotty’s keynote address, there will be an interview and interactive Q&A, moderated by Deanna Horton, Distinguished Fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions, share perspectives, and engage directly with Scotty in conversation.
