Fundraising
Every year CFUW Stratford raises funds to ensure that Scholarships can be awarded to very deserving young women. Fundraising sometimes takes the form of special events such as the International Women’s Day Breakfast but it also take the form of individual member initiatives such as Hoofing It for Girl’s and Women’s Education. Through our members generosity we have been awarding scholarships since 1959. Donations are always welcome!

CFUW 2024 Mature Student Recipient
“I have always had a desire to help others. After 13 years as a PSW, I knew it was time to expand my abilities and expertise in health care. When I was younger, there were not many opportunities to attend school. Now that I’m older, I have greater discipline. There are so many more possibilities today, such as updating my education on my own time and taking courses like the bridging course from PSW to RPN, which allows me to continue providing for my family while still working toward a career that I’m really passionate about! I have amazed myself this past year!”
Melisa was the perfect recipient of this award. She joined Academic Upgrading in November 2022 and completed Communications, mathematics, biology, chemistry in one year – and with stellar grades – all while working! She will begin the PSW Bridging to PN program in January 2025.
