Dr. Eden Hennessey, social psychologist and Research and Programs Director at the Laurier Centre for Women in Science, was the featured speaker at our October General meeting.
She gave attendees an inspiring presentation about the contributions of Canadian women scientists over the last century, including pioneers like physician Marion Hilliard and geologist Alice Wilson as well as the accomplishments of zoologist Anne Innis Dagg and Nobel Prize-winning physicist Donna Strickland.
Dr. Hennessey also provided an overview of her research on gender bias and barriers to equality in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
