Nancy McDonald

Nancy McDonald’s career began as a television journalist on programs that included W5, Canada AM, and Marketplace. She then went on to become a sought-after freelance writer, penning everything from documentaries to live-action scripts to comic books.

 She is the author of five historical thrillers for middle-grade and young adults. Set in the lead-up to, and during, the Second World War, they explore themes of persecution, loss and challenging family dynamics.

 A transplant from Toronto to Stratford, when she’s not researching or writing a new novel, Nancy revels in Shakespeare, “Sings for the Joy of It” with 150 other voices in a popular local choir, and works part-time at Stratford’s only independent bookseller, Fanfare Books.
