CFUW is a grass-roots, non-partisan organization that advocates for public policy changes based on our mission to ensure that all girls and women have equal opportunities and equal access to quality education within a peaceful and secure environment where their human rights are respected. CFUW policy is determined by resolutions approved at national Annual General Meetings by our members.
Based on CFUW policy related to education, poverty, climate action, and violence against women, we recently wrote to Perth-Wellington Member of Provincial Parliament Randy Pettapiece to request a meeting and express our concern about recent provincial government actions and their local impact.
We addressed the repeal of the Health and Physical Education Curriculum, cancellation of Indigenous curriculum writing sessions, repeal of measures aimed at poverty reduction, cancellation of green energy initiatives and the cap and trade program, as well as the decision to disband the expert roundtable on violence against women.
