Tea & Thread
Love to knit, crochet or do any other needlework? Join us!
No matter your craft or your skill level, there is a place for you. We take turns hosting, work on individual projects and help each other as best we can. Yes – absolute beginners are welcome!
Meetings: 3rd Wednesday at 1:30 pm in October, TBD afterwards depending on everyone’s availability.

Film Club
See a film with friends! Meet at The Little Prince Cinema, 62 Wellington St. unless otherwise notified. The films selected for viewing will be decided by the membership. Space is limited and so an RSVP to is required each month.
Cost: $12.00 pp to be paid at the door.
Meetings: Usually, 3rd Tuesday of the month at 4:00 pm

Quilting Plus
The group works on various projects individual or group, either quilted or other types of needle work. The group is very fluid and there is no expectation to attend every week. Tea and cookies are served around 3:30. Meetings are in Lois’ studio.

Exploring

DNA
This group is for genealogy enthusiasts who want to research their DNA results. We get together each month to explore a related topic and to share advice – plus the best of stories and camaraderie!
Meetings: 3rd Wednesday of each month from 2:00-4:00 pm

Excursions

Take a Hike!
Hiking sections of the Avon Trail at an easy pace with lots of stops for water & pictures. Members are contacted by email re: specific opportunities, distances etc. If enough are interested, we go!
Meetings: as weather and schedules permit in the fall
Food and Social Time

Gourmet Club
For this group, each member takes a turn hosting, and the hostess gets to select the theme. The hostess supplies the main dish and other members build around it with appetizers, salads, desserts, drinks etc. A very tasty and social evening! Nine is about the maximum number this group can accommodate; however, a secondary sister group can easily be organized for additional interested members.
Meetings: First Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm (start time may vary)

Lunch Bunch
Enjoy lunch and socializing at various restaurants in Stratford. RSVP to monthly invitations to secure reservations.
Meetings: 3rd Friday of each month at noon

Saturday Breakfast Social
Visit with other members at local Stratford restaurants and some further afield, which may include carpools to St. Mary’s, Wellesley, and New Hamburg. Nine breakfasts will be scheduled from September to June each year (no breakfasts in December, June and July).
Meetings: 4th Saturday of each month at 10:00 am. Start time may change vary slightly depending on location.

Bridge at the Stratford Country Club
Formerly Bridge at the Queen’s
This is not a beginner’s Bridge Club – there is no teaching element. This group meets at the Stratford Country Club starting in October, at noon for lunch followed by Bridge around 1:00pm.
Meetings: 1st Thursday of each month at noon

Duplicate Bridge
This two-table Duplicate Club is currently full, but we welcome the addition of spares who play (or are willing to learn) basic American Standard rules.
Meetings: 4th Thursday of each month at 12:45pm at Romeo Court.

Cryptic Crosswords
Members work on the weekly Cryptic Crossword Puzzle featured in the Saturday’s Globe and Mail on their own until Tuesday, then they meet to work out the answers together.
Meetings: weekly on Tuesday morning at 10:15am over Zoom.

Beginner Mahjong
A new group is forming to learn a very old game. If you are experienced or just want to try something new, please join us!

Reading

Eclectic Book Club
This club enjoys excellent discussion about books whose topics range from fiction to non-fiction, mysteries, classics, drama, humour, prize winners, biographies, autobiographies written by international, national, and BIPOC authors. The members meet sometimes in person but mostly via Zoom. Every June, members meet to decide which books will be read the following year. No meetings in July and August.
Meetings: 3rd Thursday of each month on Zoom with Sept & June in person at 7:00 pm

The Prize Book Club
This group focuses on the books short-listed for Canadian Literary Awards. The Scotiabank Giller Prize in the fall, and Canada Reads in the winter/spring. The group usually meets once before each award for discussion and then gets together to enjoy the awards events.

Cafe Book Club

Mystery Readers Book Club
This group meets to discuss the work of a chosen mystery genre author.
Meetings: second Thursday of each month at 7:30pm

Mystery Readers #2 Book Club
Whether it’s a mystery cozy or a who-done-it thriller, we find a wide variety of books and their authors to enjoy and discuss each year.
Meetings: first Tuesday of each month at each other’s homes.
