Members of our Advocacy Committee we at the Stratford Farmers’ Market on September 15th sharing information about the benefits of drinking tap water over bottled water. We had “I Drink Tap Water” and “Water is a Human Right” buttons and stickers to give away.
We all chip in for our municipal water and it is a public good and human right. It’s also about 2000 times cheaper than buying bottled water and doesn’t contribute to the overwhelming amount of waste from single-use plastics.
We are supporting the City of Stratford’s efforts to reduce reliance on bottled water and provide more drinking fountains and refill stations in public spaces and at events. We encourage everyone to drink tap water and to carry a reusable water bottle!
