Martha Cook – LL.B. Queen’s University (1999) – speaking on a variety of legal issues relevant to your personal finances.
Martha is the principal lawyer at Martha Cook Professional Corporation in Stratford. Martha advises clients about a broad range of litigation issues, including commercial, employment, and estate disputes, administrative and regulatory law, and select criminal defence matters. Prior to returning to Stratford and starting her law firm in 2009, Martha practiced litigation in Toronto.
Martha regularly appears as trial and appellate counsel at all levels of court in Ontario, and before a variety of administrative tribunals.
Martha was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2001. She holds an LL.B. from Queen’s University (1999) and a B.Sc.(Hons.) in Environmental Chemistry from the University of Waterloo (1996).
Martha has written and spoken on numerous professional legal topics, and is involved in a number of legal education initiatives, including the Wilson Moot and White & Case Jessup International Moot competitions. Martha is a current director of The Advocates’ Society, a national organization serving the Canadian advocacy community, the Huron Perth Community Legal Clinic, a local organization providing legal services to people in need, and Stratford Summer Music. In her spare time, Martha enjoys time with her friends and family and pets while avoiding gardening and being anywhere where temperatures are above 28C.
