The Canadian Federation of University Women, Stratford Club, has a strong interest in ensuring an informed and active electorate.  (CFUW is a non-partisan, voluntary, self-funded organization with over 100 CFUW Clubs, located in every province across Canada. Since its founding in 1919, CFUW has been working to improve the status of women, and to promote human rights, public education, social justice, and peace. The Stratford Club celebrated its 60th anniversary last year.)
As a result, we held a Forum for women candidates in the upcoming municipal elections and we invited the community to take part in it.  It was held on Wednesday, October 8th from 7:30 to 9:30 at Central United Church Hall. There was time for each candidate to respond to several pre-approved questions  and the floor was opened for general questions.
