Did you know that CFUW Stratford has LOTS more going on besides our meetings on the 4th Tuesday of the month? Sometimes women who are interested in our group let us know that they aren't free Tuesday evenings and we say "Please join anyway!" 🙂 About half our membership comes out to hear speakers once a month, but other members make the most of our social interest groups and committees which meet at other times, and others consider their $100 membership as a way to support education and human rights for women and girls locally, nationally, and internationally.
We have 24 interest groups where women get together to learn and have fun. (Check out the list on our website! cfuwstratford.ca/interest-groups/) And our Advocacy Committee has over 20 members working on a range of public policy issues from the environment to Indigenous rights to equal pay. We award scholarships and support local charities. We're also just beginning a "twinning" partnership with a women's organization in Zambia that's part of our international federation, Graduate Women International.
CFUW offers opportunities to meet new friends, serve our community, and support women and girls! And the modest membership fee supports activities locally, nationally and internationally for public education, gender equality, justice and peace.
